Year Of Awesome

About

When I was a kid, I was the last to be picked for teams. I could literally hide behind a street lamp I was so skinny. In college, I was 6′ 2′ and weighed a 140 lbs. I joined a gym. I got a personal trainer. I ate. I ate 10s of thousands of calories a day. I couldn’t gain 1 lb. Then I turned 24. I went from a 28″ waist to a 36″ waist overnight. I never got to enjoy a middle ground. A normal ground. A ground where I wanted to take my shirt off in public. Super skinny to just plain lumpy. And now I’ve been lumpy most of my adult life. I’ve had short periods of less lump but I’ve never been really fit and strong.

That all changes in 2009. This year, with the help of my friend, Nick, and my wife, Valerie, is going to be the year I get in the best shape of my life. I am going to complete a list of athletic tasks that currently seem impossible for me now, but with a lot of hard work is achievable.

In the process I hope to become as stong and as fast as I have ever been and most likely ever will be in my entire life. And then I’m going to take my shirt off in public – suddenly and without reason.
